Thousands of coin batteries sold on Amazon are now under recall for violating federal regulations for child-resistant packaging.
The roughly 67,000 units manufactured by the company Junpower were sold on Amazon between December 2023 and September 2024.
If you have these batteries in your home, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said you should contact the seller for a refund. You can do so by filling out this form.

This spring, we reported on button and coin battery safety measures adopted under Reese’s Law. At just 16 months old, Reese swallowed a button battery from her family’s remote control. The battery caused extensive internal damage, and Reese passed away from her injuries two months later.
Reese’s mom fought to quickly introduce and pass Reese’s Law, creating new safety standards for coin and button battery packaging in the United States. According to the CPSC, these Junpower batteries are under recall now for violating the safeguards created under Reese’s Law.
An emergency room doctor at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago told NBC 5 Responds, if you have any suspicion that your child swallowed something they shouldn’t have, go right to the emergency department.
