Laxman has decided to call Bishnoi, who was part of India’s squad for the Ireland and England series.
The decision seems rather odd. The leg-spinner didn’t play against Ireland and featured in two games against England. However, he bowled in just one game and went for 60 runs in 4 overs and failed to pick up a wicket. He was subsequently dropped and didn’t play against England.
Therefore, the decision to recall him doesn’t make much sense. The selectors could’ve gone for Vipraj Nigam or Suyash Sharma, even Krunal Pandya for that matter. But have decided to stick with Bishnoi.
No replacement for Harshit Rana yet
Harshit Rana, who has been ruled out of the India vs England ODI series as well, won’t be fit for the Zimbabwe tour either. But a decision regarding his replacement hasn’t been taken yet.
