Country Star Announced as Special Guest for 2026 North America Tour

Steve Earle is joining the road with Turnpike Troubadours this fall after the country and Americana legend confirmed his role as a special guest on select dates of the band's 2026 North American tour.

The announcement came directly from Earle through Instagram, where he shared the news with fans.

"Steve is delighted to join Turnpike Troubadours on tour this fall!”

The guest appearance comes as Turnpike Troubadours continue expanding their headline run with three newly added shows in California and Florida. The group, which is nominated for Duo/Group of the Year at the 2026 Americana Music Association Honors & Awards, added stops in San Diego, Long Beach and Fort Lauderdale to an already busy schedule.

Earle will appear at two of the newly announced California concerts.

The first show is scheduled for Oct. 15 at Gallagher Square at Petco Park in San Diego, where Earle will perform alongside fellow special guests Reckless Kelly. Two days later, Earle will return for an acoustic appearance at F&M Bank Amphitheater in Long Beach on Oct. 17, sharing support duties with rising artist Hunter Flynn.

Tickets for the newly announced dates will become available to the public beginning July 17 at 10 A.M. local time following the presale period.

The San Diego concert will bring together several generations of Americana and country music performers on one stage. Reckless Kelly will join Earle and Turnpike Troubadours for the Southern California event, creating one of the strongest lineups on the band's fall schedule.

The Long Beach show will feature a different format, with Earle performing an acoustic set before Turnpike Troubadours take the stage.

While Earle is attached to the California dates, Turnpike Troubadours also announced a new Florida concert on Oct. 23 at War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale. Muscadine Bloodline will support that performance and will continue with the band for previously announced Florida stops in St. Augustine on Oct. 24 and Clearwater on Oct. 25. Drayton Farley is also scheduled to perform at the St. Augustine and Clearwater shows.

The expanded routing strengthens what is already one of the busiest touring schedules in country and Americana music this year.

The tour announcement adds another major appearance to a notable period for Earle, who continues celebrating more than five decades as a songwriter with his Fifty-One Years of Songs and Stories tour.

Born in Fort Monroe, Virginia, and raised largely in Texas, Earle became one of country music's most respected storytellers after releasing his breakthrough album, Guitar Town, in 1986. The title track reached the Top 10 on the Billboard country chart and helped launch a career that has stretched across country, rock, folk and Americana music.

His catalog includes well-known songs such as "Copperhead Road" and "Guitar Town," while artists including Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris and The Highwaymen have recorded his material over the years.

Earle has earned three Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2020. In 2025, he became a member of the Grand Ole Opry, one of country music's highest honors.

Outside of music, Earle has built a successful acting career with appearances in television series including The Wire and Treme.

The songwriter has also remained active creatively in 2026. Earlier this year, he collaborated with actor and director Steve Buscemi on a new video for his song "City of Immigrants," a track originally released on his 2007 album Washington Square Serenade.

With presale access beginning July 15 and public ticket sales opening July 17, demand is expected to be high for Earle's return to the Turnpike Troubadours stage this fall.
