TheUnited States struck about 90 military sites along Iran's coastline, the UnitedStates Central Command (CENTCOM) disclosed on Thursday, marking the second consecutivenight of US attacks on the country.
Theoperation was designed to weaken Iran's ability to target commercial shippingand civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's busiestmaritime trade routes.
Accordingto CENTCOM, the strikes targeted air defense systems, coastal surveillanceassets, missile and drone storage facilities, naval capabilities, and militarylogistics infrastructure along Iran's southern coast.
