Summer College Champs is a championship-style swim meet created specifically for collegiate swimmers ages 18–27+. Designed by college athletes, for college athletes, this event fills a major gap in the competitive swimming calendar and provides meaningful racing opportunities during the summer season.

    The Need

During the summer, college swimmers continue training with their university programs, yet many return to the same USA Swimming meets they attended as high school athletes. This creates several challenges:

College athletes often lack a summer competition environment designed specifically for them. High school swimmers lose opportunities at local and regional meets as collegiate athletes occupy many finals spots. The primary summer championship pathway, Nationals, serves only the top tier of college athletes, leaving the majority without a true championship-level experience.

If collegiate swimming is going to continue producing elite athletes and strengthening the Olympic pipeline, there must be more opportunities for college swimmers to race, compete, and stay engaged throughout the summer.

    The Vision

Summer College Champs extends the energy, camaraderie, and team atmosphere of the collegiate season into the summer months.

    This meet will provide:

A true summer championship meet for collegiate athletes. A competitive racing opportunity for swimmers preparing for National-level competition. Mixed relay events that bring back the fun and excitement of summer swimming. A chance for athletes to represent their schools while connecting with swimmers from programs across the country. A competitive environment that encourages continued development, racing experience, and athlete retention within the sport.

Our goal is to create an event that is competitive, fun, and uniquely collegiate.
