Catherine Grace Garner, known as Slayyyter, recently opened up about her personal life when she appeared on a June episode of the “In Your Dreams With Owen Thiele” podcast. The singer revealed that before her latest album, WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA, was released, she learned that she had been cheated on by her boyfriend.
"It was like two days before my album dropped, I found out I got cheated on in my house while I was rehearsing for Coachella in L.A.," the singer explained, as reported by PEOPLE. "It’s kind of one of those things where — what a horrible thing, right? But at the same time, my album dropped, and then I did Coachella. I don’t think it’s very common where you get cheated on, and your s---, like... skyrockets. Like, it’s kinda the best thing ever."

This isn’t the first time that the star has referenced her breakup. When she performed at a festival last April, she changed one of her song lyrics from "Oh, you know my boyfriend?" to "Oh, you f---ed my boyfriend."
During the podcast, Slayyyter also explained that the breakup was complex since she had been living with her ex. "That’s the thing, too,” she said. “If you’re gonna cheat, go out and cheat, but my s---’s in my closet. My clothes are everywhere. I don’t trust these random b-----s. Do it outside of the house!"

Since this was the first time she had dealt with infidelity, she admitted, "It is really scary. It’s really weird. Every day is hard. Sometimes you’re a little more bitter and nasty about it. Sometimes I'm like, ‘You know what? Let me let go and forgive and be better and be bigger.'"
Overall, she has been looking on the bright side, and added, "I feel like it’s not every day a person [experiences infidelity and goes through a breakup] and then they get really f---ing famous after.”
Slayyyter, 29, launched her career by releasing songs through SoundCloud, then came out with her debut album in 2021. Since then, she has skyrocketed in popularity and has toured with icons like Charli XCX and Kesha. Some of her biggest hits include “CRANK,” “BEAT UP CHANEL$” and “DANCE…”
