A host of new Doctor Who audiobooks, and one Blake's 7 audiobook, have been confirmed by Penguin Publishing, with release dates set between July and September 2026.
Doctor Who: The Deadliest Weapon, which acts as the fourth instalment of the Circuit Breaker story arc, will star Jo Martin as the Fugitive Doctor, who will be on a "dangerous mission to eliminate a rogue weapons dealer who’s attempting to auction blueprints for the deadliest weapon ever invented".
Fans can listen to a sneak peek of that adventure here, and it will be released in full on 30 July 2026.
Meanwhile, Doctor Who: The Paradise of Death will be released on 6 August 2026, and will feature the Third Doctor, and be ready by Jon Culshaw.
The synopsis for the story says: "In Twentieth Century London the Doctor and UNIT are called to investigate a grisly murder at a futuristic new theme park.
"Tagging along, journalist Sarah Jane Smith and her photographer colleague Jeremy soon find themselves facing huge crab-like creatures, mind-controlling devices and vicious flesh-eating beetles. And those are just the attractions..."
Doctor Who: The Ultimate Evil will be read by Nicola Bryant, and is the novelisation of a 'lost' TV story featuring the Sixth Doctor and Peri.
It will be released on 3 September 2026, and the synopsis says: "With the TARDIS working perfectly for a change, the Doctor and Peri find themselves at something of a loose end.
"A holiday in Tranquela, a peace-loving country where there has been no war for over fifty years, seems the ideal solution. Unfortunately their visit coincides with that of an unscrupulous arms dealer, the Machiavellian Dwarf Mordant..."
Doctor Who: The Planetary Collection will be released on 3 September 2026, and is a collection of five novelisations of TV stories set on exotic planets, from Marinus to Mars and beyond.
Finally, the Blake's 7 audiobook, titled Blake's 7: Revenge of the Mutoes & Other Stories, will be released on 23 July 2026.
The synopsis says: "Jan Chappell (Cally), Sally Knyvette (Jenna) and Alistair Lock read this collection of stories from the original Blake’s 7 Annual, featuring original sound design and Dudley Simpson’s stirring theme music.
"The crew of the Liberator battle against the despotic Federation in these thrilling stories."
The Blake's 7 audiobook arrives as a TV reboot is in the works, while Doctor Who is in a period of flux on screen, with no new episodes on the schedule and the show being put out to tender.
