If you've ever watched The Traitors and thought you could do a better job, the chance is yours to prove it, with a brand-new Traitors game coming to mobiles.
Since the first series back in 2022, The Traitors has grown into a bona fide cultural phenomenon, spawning international variants and a hit celebrity version late last year.
As is the case with any show like this, it's very easy to sit there nitpicking the contestants and saying: "I could do better than that."
Well, CityDays and All3Media International have teamed up to create The Traitors: Anywhere – a social deduction game you can play exclusively on WhatsApp.
Playable with as many as 30 people at once, players will take part in a week of Traitors action, completing missions, Round Tables, banishments and, of course, murders.
Group chats are turned into a central hub for discussion, while players can secretly chat with their fellow players as well as the host to concoct strategies and share gossip.
In a statement from Nick Smith, EVP of formats and licensing at All3Media, he explained, "The Traitors is build on one irresistible question: who can you trust?
"The Traitors: Anywhere takes that question and puts it into the hands of players themselves, transforming everyday group chats into a world of suspicion and intrigue that will make you look at your friends, colleagues and family in a whole new light."
The game comes from the same team that put together the popular Race Across The World: The Experience, a live experience based on the hit show.
Social deduction games have become something of a stalwart in the mobile world since 2020, with the likes of Among Us and Town of Salem offering players a similar experience.
But in partnering with The Traitors, Anywhere is set to bring the genre to a whole new market, aimed at broader demographics such as families and work colleagues.
Unfortunately, with the game set to release later in 2026, it appears that just as with Celebrity Traitors season 2, we're going to have to wait for it.
Still, at least we have The Traitors US to keep us company until then.
