Chicago police have issued a community alert after a suspect attacked multiple women in recent days in the South Shore neighborhood.

According to Chicago police, a suspect sexually assaulted a woman who was jogging at Rainbow Beach Park on June 13 at approximately 6:05 a.m.

    The suspect approached the woman from behind, grabbed her and threw her to the ground before sexually assaulting her, according to police. He then fled the scene on foot.

    Two days later on June 15, Chicago police believe the same suspect approached a woman from behind in the 7700 block of South South Shore Drive at approximately 8:03 p.m. and touched her inappropriately. He then attempted to grab her, but she was able to free herself and escape, according to authorities.

    The suspect is described as being between 30-to-40 years old, standing between 5-feet-8 inches and 6-feet tall. He is of medium build with short hair.

    Anyone with information on either incident is asked to dial 911 or to call Chicago police at 312-747-8271.
