Vonn's Olympic comeback was cut short in February after a horrific crash during the women's downhill event. "When I tried on the dress I was really self conscious and wasn’t sure if I was ready to be in public showing my scars… but I’m happy I did it."
She went on to reveal that embracing her new appearance has been one of the most difficult aspects of her recovery. "Accepting my new scars has been one of the hardest parts of this injury mentally and it’s still a work in progress but I’ll get there."
