H&H Bagels will open Thursday in Chicago’s Fulton Market neighborhood, at 164 N. Peoria St., as part of an “ongoing expansion across the U.S.,” a press release said, with the first 250 customers to receive tote bags and H&H gift cards. The expansion to Chicago was first announced in 2025.
“Opening in Chicago is a major milestone for us,” Jay Rushin, CEO of H&H Bagels said in the release. “There’s such an incredible food culture in the city, and we’re excited to join that community by bringing our classic New York City bagels to Fulton Market. We look forward to serving the neighborhood this summer and beyond.”
The bagel shop, originally founded in 1972 on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, still uses its original recipe, the release said, along with its “artisanal water bagel method.”
“Utilizing high-quality, simple ingredients, H&H Bagels are proofed and kettle-boiled in New York City water, then oven-baked fresh to perfection,” H&H said. “Baked on-site all day, customers are able to choose from a wide variety of classic spreads, egg sandwiches, smoked fish, and specialty sandwiches.”
The Chicago H&H Bagels menu will include the same known and loved classics on the menu in New York, the release said, including the Classic Bacon, Egg and Cheese; and the Nova Salmon with “the works.” The menu also includes a variety of cream cheese and bagel flavors like plain, everything, jalapeno cheddar, egg and blueberry, along with specialty sandwiches.
The H&H Bagels Chicago location will be open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
