Jeremy Clarkson confirms aggressive cancer diagnosis in emotional Clarksons Farm scenes

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed he has been diagnosed with an "aggressive" form of cancer in the latest episode of the Prime Video series Clarkson's Farm.

The news was announced in an episode released today (17 June), as Clarkson told co-stars Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland of the diagnosis, both of whom were shocked.

Clarkson did not specify what type of cancer he had been diagnosed with, but described it was "aggressive" and 10 per cent of his prostate had been removed as part of the treatment.

He told them: "The prostate, 10 per cent of it's dead. The 10 per cent where the cancer is."

"I disappeared off the other week and I had a biopsy, and it is cancer, and it's aggressive, but it's really early," he said. "I promise I'll be fine."

Upon hearing the news, Cooper grew teary, saying "I don't like this", to which Clarkson responded: "I wasn't thrilled."

Clarkson reassured Cooper and Ireland that the disease had been caught "really early".

"I've got cancer," the former Top Gear presenter told them. "I had a medical, remember, back in May?"

He added: "If I hadn't have got myself checked out and they hadn't caught the problem early, this could well have been my last harvest. It's only because they did catch it early, there's every hope that I'll be harvesting this farm for many, many years to come."

Prior to the release of the final two episodes, Clarkson released a video on social media, telling fans that it would be "a difficult watch".

"I've got some good news and some somber news. Good news is that Hawkstone has finally had an advert accepted and it'll be shown just before kick off in the England match tomorrow evening.

"Somber now, Clarkson's Farm. Ordinarily we try to keep the show bucolic and charming and cheerful. But the final two episodes which drop in the middle of the night tonight... they're none of those things really. They are a difficult watch. They're really, really difficult."

Clarkson's Farm seasons 1-5 are available to watch on Prime Video now.
