Legendary 70s Rocker Announces Dates for 2026 Tour

One of rock's most influential guitarists is preparing to hit the road once again.

Michael Schenker and the Michael Schenker Group have announced a new run of European dates for the Don't Sell Your Soul tour in support of their latest release.

The band shared the news on Instagram, writing, "We're excited to announce that the Michael Schenker Group will be hitting the road across Europe this November in support of the most recent album, Don't Sell Your Soul!"

The group also confirmed that longtime collaborator Robin McAuley will join the tour, performing both new material and fan favorites from throughout MSG's career.

"We can’t wait to see you all out there and share these special nights with you," the band told fans. "Are You Ready To Rock?"

The touring lineup will feature Schenker on guitar alongside McAuley on vocals, Steve Mann on guitar and keyboards, Barend Courbois on bass and Bodo Schopf on drums.

Schenker remains one of the most respected guitarists to emerge from the 1970s hard rock scene. After gaining international attention as a member of UFO, he helped create classics such as "Doctor Doctor," "Rock Bottom" and "Lights Out" before launching a successful career under his own name.

Through the Michael Schenker Group and later projects, Schenker became known for his melodic guitar style, helping influence generations of hard rock and heavy metal musicians.

"I've never known about anything technical," Schenker told Guitar World. "When I put a musical sketch together for a song, I can't say if it's major or minor. People say I switch between the two, but I don't know. Maybe I play parts of scales, but I don't know the names of them or the modes or whatever. I just don't care about that stuff."

The addition of McAuley is particularly notable for longtime fans. The singer fronted the band during the late 1980s and early 1990s, appearing on albums including Perfect Timing and Save Yourself. Their reunion in recent years has been warmly received by fans eager to hear material from that era performed live again.

And, after all these years, Schenker keeps his skills as sharp as they've ever been.

"I used to practice quite a lot, four to eight hours a day," he told Guitar Player. "I did the hardship when I was young — when you are supposed to do it. Now I'm just making sure I practice two hours a day outside of shows. I like to play between the soundcheck and when we go onstage. I just do whatever I like."

With a new album to promote and a catalog spanning more than five decades, the Don't Sell Your Soul Tour promises to showcase both Schenker's latest work and the songs that made him one of hard rock's most celebrated guitarists.
