Taylor Swift lived all of our childhood dreams when she dropped by the world premiere of Toy Story 5 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Calif, where she presented series star Tom Hanks with a very nostalgic request that he was more than pleased to oblige.
While the singer reportedly skipped the main red carpet festivities, she did pop in to pose with members of the cast, toting an extra special surprise along with her.
Swift was decked out in a rather fun choice from Erdem's Fall 2026 Ready-to-Wear Collection.
The dress gave a distressed denim vibe, with silver gems decorating the neckline, bust, and hem, and two large bows securing it around her arms. The skirt was made of vintage-looking fabric ruched around the waist, creating a patchwork effect, with loose threads left to hang below the hem adding to the distressed look.
Swift accessorized with an open pendant on a chain around her neck and sparkling earrings. She pulled her hair back from her face in a partial up-do and wore her signature red lip and winged eyeliner.

In an extra sweet moment, she also made a special request of Hanks—his autograph on her own childhood copy of the original Toy Story. The actor looked very touched by the ask in a photo snapped from the moment, with his brow furrowed and his mouth dropped open in surprise.
In a group photo, part of his message to her was visible as she clutched the prized possession. While most was obscured by her hand, he had clearly written “To infinity + beyond” in the top right corner.
“I didn't get a selfie, but I did sign her original VHS of the first Toy Story," Hanks later commented, joking that she should have brought a VHS player, too, for the two of them to sign and display in the Smithsonian Institute.

Footage from inside the theater shows the musician changed into a yellow gown with an embellished V-neck bust, seated at a large piano, to surprise the audience with the live debut of her latest single, "I Knew It, I Knew You," which she wrote especially for the film's official soundtrack.
The track has earned high praise since its release just a few days ago, already having broken a Spotify record and garnering comparisons to Randy Newman’s now iconic “When She Loved Me” from Toy Story 2, with some boldly declaring it to be Swift's best song in years.
