    Since it’s a primary, the top two vote-getters will advance to the Nov. 3 general election.

    Governor — Democrat Xavier Becerra has moved into first place with 26.7% of votes counted so far, followed by Republican Steve Hilton at 26.4% and Democrat Tom Steyer at 21.0%. Click for statewide table.

    Other State Offices — Incumbents Rob Bonta and Shirley Weber are set for re-election as Attorney General and Secretary of State, with tallies over 50%. Leading for Lieutenant Governor are Fiona Ma at 19.4%, Gloria Romero at 18.9% and Josh Fryday at 14.2%. For Insurance Commissioner, it’s Jane Kim at 25.2%, Ben Allen at 19.6% and Stacy Korsgaden at 16.5%. And for Superintendent of Public Instruction, the leaders are Sonja Shaw at 23.9%, Richard Barrera at 19.7% and Wendy Leal at 9.3%. Click for all state office results.

    Congress — In the contested 48th District, it’s Jim Desmond at 40.8%, followed by Marni von Wilpert at 20.3% and Ammar Campa-Najjar at 9.7%. Click for full district results.

    State Senate — In the contested 40th District, Democrat Mara Elliott has 46.6% to Republican Kristie Bruce-Lane’s 28.6%.

    State Assembly — In the contested 74th District along the north coast into Orange County, Democratic challenger Sergio Farias is leading incumbent Republican Laurie Davies by 51.15% to 48.85%.

    Judicial Offices – Jodi Cleesattle is leading Adam Noakes by 54.1% to 45.9%.

    County Supervisor — In District 5, Republican Rebecca Jones has 39.6%, followed by Democrat Kyle Krahel with 21.4% and Republican John Franklin at 19.0%.

    County Treasurer/Tax Collector — Appointed incumbent Larry Cohen is leading with 46.7%, followed by Shirley Nakawatase with 34.1% and Joel Anderson at 16.0%.

    San Diego City Council — In District 2, Richard Bailey leads with 36.3% of the vote, followed by Nicole Crosby at 33.0% and Josh Coyne at 12.6%. In District 4, challenger Martha Abraham is leading incumbent Henry Foster III by just 3 votes, 40.2% to 40.2%. In District 6, incumbent Kent Lee is ahead of challenger Mark Powell, 57.7% to 42.3%.

    And in District 8, Antonio Martinez leads with 30.3%, followed by Gerardo Ramirez at 25.9% and Venus Molina with 23.5%.

    Measure A — The measure to tax second homes is losing 55.3% to 44.7%.

    Chula Vista — Incumbent Mayor John McCann appears headed for re-election with 58.4% of the vote.

    In City Council District 1, incumbent Carolina Chavez leads with 42.4% of the vote to Greg Martinez’ 24.6%.

    And in District 2, it’s Jose Preciado at 47.4% followed by Angelica Martinez at 27.5%.
