Say it with me, "by the power of Grayskull, I have THE POWER!" Those epic words are the heart of the latest Masters of the Universe reboot in more ways than one.
In one of the cinematic surprises of 2026 so far, by its crescendo Masters of the Universe manages to pick apart ideas of masculinity, teamwork and conflict while also giving us all the strange and vibrant world-building we expect from He-Man, Skeletor and the gang.
By the time the appropriately colourful credits roll, Masters of the Universe has used its two hour plus runtime to dive into the kind-hearted character of Adam and explore what it means to be a man in the modern world.
It does, of course, do this while also having Adam's cosmic alter ego, the muscle-bound He-Man played to perfection by Nicholas Galitzine, punch, jump and kick his way through a parade of weird and wild villains.
But what exactly happens when He-Man and Skeletor finally face off? And does the film have a post-credits scene?
Masters of the Universe ending explained
After losing the Sword of Power trying to save his father, King Randor, Prince Adam finds himself powerless once more and imprisoned in the dungeons of Snake Mountain.
Thankfully, Skeletor cannot use the Sword of Power without first returning it to Castle Grayskull, giving Adam and the gang time to team up and head to Eternos for one last stand against the master of evil and his army.

With the help of the powerful Sorceress, Adam learns that the true Power of Grayskull isn't within the sword and is within him instead. After all, the words are, "I have the power" not "this sword has the power," right?
A now transformed He-Man repairs the sword and attempts to use his skills in conflict resolution to appeal to the goodness in Skeletor. Of course, this doesn't work and He-Man must use his power to defeat evil and return Eternia to the peace it had known years before.
6 months later, order has returned to Eternia, and Adam, Teela, Man-At-Arms and the rest of the Masters of the Universe gather in Eternos to celebrate their victory.
Of course, before the credits roll, He-Man is called upon and so Adam takes the sword of power and rides Battle Cat on to another adventure.
Does Masters of the Universe have a post-credits scene?
Yes, Masters of the Universe has multiple mid and post-credits scenes.
The first comes after director Travis Knight's name hits the screen, and we see fan favourite character Orko pop-up to address the audience just like he used to in the classic 80s cartoon.
As fun as it is to see everyone's favourite Trollan wizard, the really exciting post-credits scene comes a few minutes later when Queen Marlena and Man-At-Arms appear once again. The two have a brief conversation during which the Queen hints at a certain other hero of Eternia before cutting to the Fright Zone to reveal a battle hardened Princess Adora/She-Ra.
And if that's not enough, a post-post credits scene shows Evil-Lyn retrieving Skeletor's skull, hinting at the infamous villain's role in a potential future sequel.
Will there be a Masters of the Universe sequel?
It's clear from the film's many post-credits scenes that the filmmakers want to make a sequel. However, despite teasing She-Ra and the return of Skeletor, any potential sequel is very much at the mercy of both the box-office and toy sales.
In other words, please go see this film in the cinema because we deserve a big-screen She-Ra.
