“He is miles ahead of the other contenders. He has even scored runs while being the captain. You will find very few players who are captains and also score. There is no choice better than him," he added.
Kaif suggests Jasprit Bumrah's name
Kaif has another suggestion for the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) if they want to remove Yadav. According to the former cricketer, Jasprit Bumrah is someone who has long served the team across the formats, has leadership qualities, and deserves to be the skipper of the T20I set-up, subject to his fitness.
“Jasprit Bumrah is deserving if you look at it. He has been in Surya's team, and he has played for a long time and delivered. If he is ready for captaincy, he should be the first above all other names. He captained MI as well, and they won that game," Kaif said.
"He even gave a statement, which shows that he has the desire to captain. I don't know about his fitness and participation, but in that sense, no one should even be close to him, because he has been on the team and done well in different conditions," he added.
