Auburn is mourning the loss of a member of the AU athletics family. The athletic department announced the passing of Paul Ellen on Thursday.
Ellen spent more than 5 decades as part of the Auburn radio broadcast team.

“I would like to take a minute since I got the floor to send our condolences to Paul Ellen, a great friend,” the Auburn head baseball coach said. “The Auburn family has heard him on football and some fill-ins of baseball. He was with us on our (College) World Series, our first World Series in (2019). After the tragedy with Rod and Paula (Bramblett), he was with us on that journey to our first World Series in a long time.
“So just a good friend. And again, all these relationships are not built when they got a microphone in your in your face. Those relationships are built when you’re eating or in the hotel or just spending some time together. And I just want to lift him up to the Auburn family.
“I know a lot of people have followed Auburn teams with his voice as well. So prayers to the family there.”
