Gypsy Rose Blanchard was involved in a minor car crash in Louisiana over the weekend, according to TMZ, which first reported the incident. It came about two weeks after the death of Ken Urker, her former fiancé and the father of her daughter, Aurora.
Louisiana State Police Troop C told TMZ that troopers investigated a minor crash involving Blanchard in Terrebonne Parish on Oct. 17. Police said the collision caused minor property damage, no injuries were reported and no arrests were made.
A source told TMZ the crash happened at an intersection in Houma and that Blanchard had up-to-date car insurance. The source also said the sun was in her eyes and was a factor. A Facebook user posted about the alleged collision, writing that “2026 is wild.” TMZ said it reached out to Blanchard for comment and had not heard back.
The crash comes during a painful stretch for Blanchard. Urker was found dead at his home in Raceland, Louisiana, on Oct. 1, which was also his birthday, according to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office. The office confirmed he was found dead when deputies arrived and said the death is under investigation. Blanchard told People that “Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved.” She has also said Urker faced intense online scrutiny and cyberbullying, and she asked for privacy for their daughter and families.
Blanchard and Urker first connected in 2017 while she was serving a prison sentence for her role in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. Urker reached out after watching the HBO documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest, according to PinkNews. Urker was best known for appearing with Blanchard on Lifetime’s Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup, according to TheWrap. Their story has also been dramatized on Hulu’s The Act, with Joey King playing Blanchard.
The couple were engaged in 2018, split, and reunited in April 2024. They welcomed Aurora in December 2024.
