David Dangerfield and Sheila Mangubat are back together. The pair, who were a fan-favorite on season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, confirmed they are, in fact, still a couple after breaking up in 2025.
According to the verified Instagram page @90dayfianceupdate, Dangerfield announced on Tuesday, June 2, that he and Mangubat are “private” but “still together.” The news was met with fan reactions in the comments, including “Yay! I'm not going to lie. I actually love them together. I hope they stay together for a long time,” and another user wrote, “Yes, they seem to truly love each other.”
Dangerfield was born deaf and is nonverbal, while Mangubat was born hearing but relies on a hearing aid for her partial deafness. The couple met on a Facebook group for single people with hearing loss in 2021.
After communicating online for two years, Dangerfield, who resides in Omaha, Nebraska, traveled to the Philippines to meet Mangubat for the first time. The occasion was, of course, televised on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.
“I was open to dating a deaf or hard of hearing person. I was putting myself out there constantly and getting a lot of ‘nos.’ Dangerfield communicated in an episode from season 6, then added: “I’m happy I never gave up because I found my love, Sheila.”
David Dangerfield and Sheila Mangubat Face Hardships
Dangerfield admitted he was “overwhelmed” by the conditions of Mangubat’s home.
“When COVID hit, she lost her job, and her house was destroyed by a fire,” Dangerfield revealed about Mangubat on the show, adding, “Then it was hit again by a typhoon. I love Sheila, so I want to help her.”
Throughout the season, Dangerfield and Mangubat faced other notable struggles, including financial hardship. Dangerfield opened up on the show about working over 80 hours a week to support Mangubat. At the same time, Mangubat applied for a K-1 Visa, which, as Dangerfield revealed on Instagram, was denied in 2024, according to Screen Rant.

Then, suddenly in October 2025, he posted a heartbreaking message on his Instagram story announcing he and Mangubat had broken up. “Me and Sheila are broken up, and we are good [friends],” his message read.
Although the reason for the couple's split in 2025 has yet to be confirmed, their season of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days showcased Mangubat’s trust issues with Dangerfield’s female ASL interpreter, Aimee. Mangubat doesn’t know sign language, while Dangerfield doesn’t read lips, so the couple faced obvious communication differences.
In addition, Dangerfield expressed his concerns about giving Mangubat money to support her life in the Philippines while struggling to find work on her own.
