WARREN — Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Elvis Costello and his band, The Imposters, will play Packard Music Hall on Sept. 15.
The six recently added dates on a tour billed as “The Songs of Elvis Costello from the Early Days to the Late Hours” are the only North American dates with an electric band currently scheduled.
Costello released his debut album, “My Aim Is True,” on Columbia Records in 1977, and his career includes more than 30 studio albums and such radio staples as “Watching the Detectives,” “Alison,” “Pump it Up,” “Accidents Will Happen,” “Every Day I Write the Book” and “Veronica.” He’s won two Grammy Awards and collaborated with such artists as Paul McCartney, Burt Bacharach, Allen Toussaint and Kronos Quartet.
He had an acting role in the film “Straight to Hell” and appeared as himself on “Treme,” “Frasier,” “Two and a Half Men” and “30 Rock.” He wrote the songs for the musical “A Face in the Crowd,” which had its world premiere in London in 2024.
The Imposters include Steve Nieve on keyboards and Pete Thomas on drums, who both were members of Costello’s original band, The Attractions, joined by Davey Faragher, bass, and special guest Charlie Sexton on guitar.
