Earlier this week when I wrote about the upcoming June 1 deadline, I did not include Pridham in that piece because he is not mentioned on the list of players who could re-enter the NHL draft on PuckPedia’s list. However, this report from Powers indicates he would indeed be eligible for this summer’s draft if he doesn’t either commit to college or sign his entry-level contract with the Blackhawks.
Pridham previously committed to Boston University, but opted to remain in the OHL this past season.
Pridham had an excellent season for Kitchener, ranking among the OHL leaders in goals, power play goals and short-handed goals. In total goals, he only trailed fellow Blackhawks teammate Marek Vanacker.
If Pridham re-enters the draft, it would be fascinating to see where he would be picked now. The Blackhawks selected Pridham in the third round (No. 92 overall) in the 2024 NHL Draft. Pridham will turn 21 on Oct. 8.
