Love Island bosses confirm new companion series airing immediately after main episode – with all-new hosts

The Love Island: The Morning After podcast is getting a big shake-up ahead of this year's summer series, as ITV introduces a brand new companion series where fans will be able to get all the gossip immediately after the main show.

Ahead of the series launching next week, commissioning editor Amanda Stavri revealed that The Morning After podcast will be getting a rebrand and will now be known as Love Island: The Debrief.

As well as acting as a podcast and being uploaded to ITVX, it will also play directly after Love Island every night at 10pm from Monday to Friday.

"Fans can watch Love Island, and then they can get an immediate reaction, immediate debate and analysis of the show that you've just watched," Stavri explained.

"The dumped islanders will be going on there as well, so they'll be able to give their opinions, spill the tea about their time in the villa, so that's exciting!"

However Stavri was sure to remain tight-lipped on who would be hosting the show, following the departures of Amy Hart and Indiyah Polack.

In a joint statement shared to their Instagram, Amy and Indiyah wrote: "After three incredible years of gossip, girlie chats and love, we wanted to share that we’re stepping away from Love Island: The Morning After & Aftersun.

"With millions of views, juicy live streams and even a nomination for best video podcast, we are truly leaving on a high and with a friend for life in each other!!

"The podcast has been such a huge part of our lives and we’re super proud of what we’ve built. So many laughs, some unforgettable memories and none of it would’ve been possible without you guys however now feels like the right time to pass it on and let someone else take on the best job in the world."

The pair also left their roles as panellists on Aftersun, which Stavri has confirmed will now feature new faces, though they are yet to be announced.

ITV is no stranger to a companion series, with Big Brother: Late & Live a prime example. Hosted alternating hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best, each night a group of celebrity panellists share their thoughts on the latest episode and are usually joined by the housemate who has been evicted.

Speculation has been rife as to who could take over from Polack and Hart as podcast hosts, and we can expect an announcement any day now...

Love Island returns on Monday 1 June at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
