It’s NBA Draft Deadline Day!
Today, we find out just how valuable the Bulls’ second-round picks could be, depending on which names from this draft class stay in and which decide to leave.
Also, a chance to jump up from No. 15 in the NBA Draft? And more talks surrounding an NBA expansion team joining the league.
Let’s talk Bulls basketball.
Andrej Stojakovic © Trevor Ruszkowski-Imagn Images Tonight is the final day for college players who still have eligibility remaining to withdraw from the 2026 NBA Draft and maintain that eligibility. This news is mostly relevant for players projected to go in the second round, who could be making significantly more money in college while also having the chance to improve their draft stock for a future class. The biggest names still on the board to make that decision are: Koa Peat from Arizona: 14.1 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 2.6 AST, 0.6 STL, 0.7 BLK, 52 FG%, 35 3P% Meleek Thomas from Arkansas: 15.6 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 2.5 AST, 1.5 STL, 0.2 BLK, 44 FG%, 42 3P% Amari Allen from Alabama: 11.4 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 3.1 AST, 1.0 STL, 0.7 BLK, 45 FG%, 34 3P% Tounde Yessoufou from Baylor: 17.8 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 1.6 AST, 2.0 STL, 0.6 BLK, 47 FG%, 29 3P% Tyler Tanner from Vanderbilt: 19.5 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 5.1 AST, 2.4 STL, 0.3 BLK, 49 FG%, 37 3P% Jeremy Fears from Michigan State: 15.2 PPG, 2.4 RPG, 9.4 AST, 1.3 STL, 0.0 BLK, 43 FG%, 32 3P% Billy Richmond from Arkansas: 11.2 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 2.0 AST, 1.1 STL, 0.8 BLK, 56 FG%, 26 3P% Milan Momcilovic from Iowa State: 16.9 PPG, 3.1 RPG, 1.0 AST, 0.8 STL, 0.2 BLK, 51 FG%, 49 3P% Andrej Stojakovic from Illinois: 13.5 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 1.0 AST, 0.4 STL, 0.4 BLK, 50 FG%, 24 3P% There have been rumors in recent days that Stojakovic will return to Illinois for another season. There was smoke that would be his decision back in mid-April as well. We’ll see. All of these names had good seasons last year and, in most other draft classes, would likely be considered fringe first-round picks. However, in this year’s draft, none of these guys, outside of Tounde, Tyler, Koa, and Meleek, have really sniffed first-round mock drafts. I would expect at least six or seven of them to keep their names in the draft pool when the clock strikes midnight, and for the Chicago Bulls that would be great news. With two picks in the second round, if the Bulls can snag first-round caliber talent in a deep draft class, it could speed up what Bryson Graham is trying to build. If I’m hoping for any of these names to fall to pick No. 38, it would be Meleek, Amari, Tounde, or Tyler. And for pick No. 56, Andrej, Milan, or Fears.NBA draft deadline day! — Jeff Borzello (@jeffborzello) May 27, 2026 One name that did decide to keep his name in the NBA Draft is Santa Clara’s Allen Graves. In his freshman season, Graves averaged nearly 12 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block per game while shooting 51% from the field and 41% from three as a 6’9″ forward. He won West Coast Conference Sixth Man of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and earned All-WCC honors in both the regular season and tournament play. Graves is currently expected to be drafted in the 15–25 range, making him a prime candidate for the Bulls with their later first-round pick.Significant news for Graves, who will be a first-round pick this year. The question is where he ends up. Multiple teams in the 15-25 range of the draft have expressed interest in the versatile forward. t.co/MpZ0bosC9C
— Brett Siegel (@BrettSiegelNBA) May 26, 2026 That is, if the Bulls stay at 15. But what if they want to jump up a couple of spots? A possible path to make that happen may have just opened up. According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, the Golden State Warriors, who hold the No. 11 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, are interested in signing two former Bulls, Anfernee Simons and Collin Sexton, in free agency.Anfernee Simons and Collin Sexton are two potential early free agent targets for the Warriors, per @BrettSiegelNBA pic.twitter.com/FGZIsYuMqZ
— SleeperHoops (@Sleeper_Hoops) May 25, 2026 Now, the Warriors don’t exactly have the prettiest cap sheet, especially considering they’ll likely have to pay to bring back Kristaps Porzingis this offseason, making those two names feel like a pipe dream. Unless the Bulls help them out. Chicago, which already holds the BIRD rights to these players, could theoretically sign and trade them to Golden State for aggregated salary involving players like Moses Moody and Al Horford, helping the Warriors land names reportedly on their wish list. In return, the Bulls could swap picks with the Warriors and jump up to No. 11. However, if that were the framework, those conversations would need to happen before the Draft, with the Warriors selecting the player Chicago wants and vice versa, before the deal could officially be completed after July 1st once the Bulls are able to sign Simons and Sexton and execute the trade. It’s likely still a pipe dream at this point, but we’ve already heard reports of the Bulls exploring ways to trade up, whether from No. 4 or No. 15. This route would allow Chicago to move up without having to sacrifice future assets. And finally, just a day after we spoke about interest building around a Las Vegas expansion franchise, Evan Sidery is now reporting interest for the other city potentially joining the NBA as an expansion team. One Roof Sports and Entertainment, a parent brand for the Seattle Kraken ownership group, is officially preparing a bid this summer to bring the Seattle SuperSonics back in 2028.Samantha Holloway, the daughter of late billionaire businessman David Bonderman, is leading the bid. pic.twitter.com/W66HwGrDel
— Evan Sidery (@esidery) May 26, 2026 This would not be the first ownership group to hold stakes across different sports teams and leagues, especially within the same city. In Chicago, obviously the Reinsdorf family owns both the Bulls and White Sox. And Jerry Reinsdorf’s group bought the Bulls from the Wirtz family, owners of the Blackhawks (who retain a stake in the Bulls today). In fact, the two most recently rumored groups to want to buy into the NBA via expansion would be the owners of the two most recent NHL expansion franchises. I shared a report in our Tuesday bullets about the owners of the Vegas Golden Knights wanting to bring the NBA to Vegas.BLEACHER NATION: Go Ad Free | Subscribe to the BN Newsletter
