Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reaffirmed Egypt’s firm position toward the Yemeni crisis, stressing Egypt’s support for the Yemeni legitimate government. Madbouly’s remarks came during a meeting on Sunday, May 24, 2026, with Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Shaya Mohsin Al-Zindani, in the presence of Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs Ihab Fahmy.
During the meeting, Madbouly welcomed Al-Zindani and his accompanying delegation, expressing appreciation for the historical and fraternal ties between the two countries. He reaffirmed Egypt’s keenness to support bilateral cooperation with Yemen in a way that serves the interests of both peoples.
Madbouly also emphasized the importance of integration and coordination between the two countries in light of regional developments and challenges.
For his part, Al-Zindani extended his greetings to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
He highlighted the deep historical ties between the Egyptian and Yemeni peoples.
He stressed the importance of unifying Arab efforts to confront regional challenges.
The Yemeni Foreign Minister also underlined the importance of building relations among regional countries on the basis of respect for international law and non-interference in the internal affairs of other states.
During the meeting, Al-Zindani highlighted the strength of bilateral ties and shared interests with Egypt, taking into consideration the location of the two countries in the Red Sea region.
He expressed hope for enhancing bilateral cooperation and supporting Yemeni capabilities in various fields, with particular emphasis on economic cooperation and expanding private-sector partnerships.
He also reviewed the latest developments regarding the internal situation in Yemen.
