The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Thursday (May 14) the India A squad for the upcoming one-day tri-series in Sri Lanka. The Indian selectors have picked some exciting names in the squad who have made the headlines in the ongoing IPL 2026.
Young batting sensation Tilak Varma has been appointed captain of the India A side, while Riyan Parag has been named vice-captain for the important tournament.
One of the biggest talking points is the selection of teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has earned his maiden India A call-up after his explosive performances for the Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing IPL 2026. The 15-year-old has impressed everyone with his fearless batting and domination against top bowlers in the tournament.

Apart from Vaibhav, Punjab Kings’ in-form batters Prabhsimran Singh and Priyan Arya have also been picked in the India A squad for the upcoming one-day tri-series against Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A.
After the ODI tri-series, India A will also play two multi-day matches against Sri Lanka A in Galle. The squad for those red-ball matches will be announced later.
