More Stenberg Buzz, Sweden’s Worlds Roster, Defense, OHL Playoffs, and Other Blackhawks Bullets

On Morning, Sweden officially named their roster for the IIHF Men’s World Championship. There are two Blackhawks on the list: Anton Frondell and Arvid Söderblom. Ivar Stenberg is also on Sweden’s roster. Note to self…

    — Tre Kronor (@Trekronorse) May 11, 2026 Corey Pronman at The Athletic published his first post-lottery mock draft on Monday morning. He, too, has Stenberg falling to the Blackhawks at No. 4 overall. Here’s what he wrote about the selection:

I think the dream for Chicago is to add a dynamic scorer to eventually pair with Connor Bedard. Stenberg’s electric puck skills fit the bill, though there are still mixed opinions on how high he ultimately goes. Some think he could be gone by No. 4, but history lacks precedent of two 5-foot-11 wingers going at the very top of the draft.

For those keeping track at home, I have now tracked 12 post-lottery mock drafts (including Pronman’s today and ESPN’s Rachel Kryshak on Friday). Seven of the 12 have the Blackhawks selecting Stenberg, including both Pronman and Wheeler at The Athletic. Ben Pope put together his annual chat with Chris Peters from FloHockey breaking down the Blackhawks fit for the top prospects who might be available at No. 4 overall. Note: I previously included Peters’ first post-lottery mock draft in one of my pieces last week. He, too, had Stenberg being selected by the Blackhawks at No. 4.

Could Ivar Stenberg fall to the Blackhawks’ #4 pick?If not, who among Caleb Malhotra, Chase Reid, Carson Carels, Keaton Verhoeff and Alberts Smits would be the best fit?My annual chat with @chrismpeters analyzing the Hawks’ draft options: t.co/1Rnf5Wobrt

    — Ben Pope (@BenPopeCST) May 10, 2026 In the OHL Playoffs, Kitchener needed more than five minutes into a second overtime to beat Barrie 4-3 on Sunday evening. Jack Pridham was held without a point in the win. With the Blackhawks looking for a veteran presence on their blue line (in theory), one name to consider: Adam Pelech of the New York Islanders. He’s physical and a willing shot blocker who’s signed thru the 2028-29 season with a $5.75M cap hit and turns 32 in mid-August. As Blackhawks fans seem more than willing to include any number of defensemen in trade scenarios this summer, this is a good read from Jim Cerny at ForeverBlueShirts on the incredible playoffs Carolina is enjoying from 26-year-old defenseman K’Andre Miller — from the Rangers’ perspective. The Rangers selected Miller in the first round of the 2018 NHL Draft, and traded him to Carolina (with a contract extension in hand) for Scott Morrow, a first-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft and Carolina’s second-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.

    — Jim Cerny (@JimCerny) May 10, 2026 In the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Anaheim Ducks got their series even at two with a 4-3 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday. Ian Moore’s first goal of the playoffs held on to be the game-winner for Anaheim. Mitch Marner had three assists for Vegas. In the other NHL game on Sunday, Tage Thompson scored the first goal of the game just 53 seconds into the first period for Buffalo. Unfortunately for him and his teammates, the Canadiens scored six of the next seven goals to run away with a 6-2 victory in Montreal. The Habs now lead that series 2-1. Finally, congrats to the Chicago Bulls for moving up five spots in the 2026 NBA Draft Lottery on Sunday. The Bulls now own the… No. 4 overall pick in their draft. The Blackhawks be like
