OLEAN, N.Y. (WHEC) – A pair of former Section V boy’s basketball players have transferred to St. Bonaventure for the 2026-27 season.
Mason Blackwood (Penn State) and Ryan Heath (Daemen) will now team up in Bonnies jerseys.
Blackwood just finished up his freshman season with the Nittany Lions, appearing in 26 games and averaging 2.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.2 assists per game. He moves down from the Big Ten to the Atlantic 10, which could lead to an increase in minutes.
Heath played for Division II Daemen for the past three seasons, but saw his numbers go up as a junior, posting averages of 9.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.
Daemen was a nationally ranked squad at the D-II level and head coach Mike MacDonald took the St. Bonaventure basketball job on Mar. 30, after the long time head coach Mark Schmidt retired.
