“This signing represents not only the strength of their catalog but also the future of the genre,” added Tomás Rodríguez, president of Warner Music Mexico. “Los Alegres del Barranco have played a key role in shaping the sound of corridos and Mexican music.”
Known for corridos such as “El Panal,” “El 701” and “La Gilbertona,” the band is releasing its first single under its new label on Friday (May 1), titled “De Los Dientes Pa’ Fuera,” a collaboration with Edgardo Núñez and Los Farmerz, two of the most successful artists of the new generation of regional Mexican music stars.
Just a year ago, Los Alegres del Barranco were at the center of controversy after displaying images of a cartel leader during a concert while performing the song “El Del Palenque,” an act that led to the cancellation of the band members’ U.S. visas. However, the interest generated by the song following the incident propelled it to No. 1 on Billboard‘s LyricFind Global chart (dated April 11, 2025).
With a catalog of compositions primarily written by Pável Moreno and José Carlos Moreno, Los Alegres del Barranco has maintained its original lineup as a quartet, becoming storytellers and cultural voices of the corrido genre with a style that has influenced new artists.
In 2025, the group embarked on a 20th-anniversary celebration tour called Los Señores del Corrido across Mexico, with two major performances this year: Aug. 7 at Arena Ciudad de México and Aug. 15 at Arena Guadalajara.
