The ranking included films like The Rundown from 2003, Dredd, released in 2012, and 1996's The Long Kiss Goodnight. The 2014 Indonesian film The Raid 2 topped the list. According to Collider, the Raid sequel has plenty of purposeful fighting choreography and introspective scenes, making it a unique action movie.
The Raid 2 has a score of 82 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and grossed a total of $6,554,557 worldwide, per Box Office Mojo.

In a 2014 interview with Flicks in the City, actor Arifin Putra, who plays mobster Uco in The Raid 2, opened up about working with the film's director, writer, and editor Gareth Evans. According to Putra, Evans is "a hardcore perfectionist," which didn't always work in the actor's favor.
He then explained that he would have to perform the same intense action scene "with a lot of sharp objects in the mud" and without shoes "30, 40" times. He said he was absolutely exhausted after finishing the production of "one big fighting scene."
"We shot that scene for 10 days straight, and every day waking up at 4:30, ending at 6:00 p.m., and then the next day doing it again for 10 straight days," said Putra. "And for those 10 days, you're adrenaline, right? Like pure adrenaline. So, you're just, okay, just let's just push through, push through, push through. But then on the 10th day when we finally went home, we got into a bus and then I just passed out. I slept for two days straight."
He clarified that he thought the finished product was worth his exhaustion and wounds.
