The Miami Dolphins, who selected former Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor No. 12 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, are expected to move Proctor to left guard when the season starts in September.
Proctor worked as Alabama’s left tackle for 3 seasons.
“Day 1, I think he’s probably lining up at left guard,” Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan said on Wednesday, via AL.com. “You know what I mean? And we’re going to kind of fortify, and we’ll move Jonah (Savaiinaea) to the right side and off we go. But it’s moving pieces all the time, and really we just want to play with a couple different things to get the best five out there. But I think if you pressed me, that’s probably what it looks like Day 1, and then we’ll see where we go from there.”
Miami’s projected starter at left tackle is Patrick Paul, who has started 20 games for Miami, including all 17 matchups last season. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right?
Alabama saw 10 players drafted in 2026, tied for the most of any team in the draft. Proctor was the first Crimson Tide player off the board, just before the Rams took Ty Simpson in a surprise move at No. 13.
