The actress and senior royal descended the iconic stairs of the New York Public Library on April 29, 2026, to support a literacy event for The Queen's Reading Room charity. Parker is a literacy advocate.
The royal family's Instagram page shared a video of the women walking within the historical building, located in Midtown Manhattan. A caption explained the unlikely moment between two women bonded by a love of literature.

According to PEOPLE Magazine, Parker told reporters, "Every time you shine a spotlight on reading and the relationship between a reader and a book and how it changes lives and enriches lives and cultivates empathy and curiosity, I’m so grateful. And for Her Majesty, it means a great deal."
