All five episodes of spy thriller Secret Service are now available to stream on ITVX, adapting Tom Bradby's novel of the same name.
Gemma Arterton and Rafe Spall lead an all-star cast, in a series which sees Arterton's MI6 operative Kate uncovering evidence suggesting that a top flight UK politician could be a Russian asset.
By the end of the five episodes, all has been revealed and the central storyline has been brought to a close. But could we still follow Kate as she takes on other missions in potential future seasons?

Will there be a Secret Service season 2?
We don't yet know whether there will be a second season of Secret Service, but there is certainly the potential for the show to continue.
Season 1 was based on Tom Bradby's novel of the same name, but that book has two sequels which also follow Gemma Arterton's character, Kate.
The first, called Double Agent, was published in 2020, while the second, titled Triple Cross, was published in 2021. If interest from the audience was there in this first season of Secret Service, we imagine that the team would return to give us adaptations of those novels too.
For now, we will have to wait to see how the show is received by audiences, and wait for word from ITV as to whether it will be continuing.
When would a potential Secret Service season 2 be released?
It's hard to say when a second season of Secret Service would be released, given that the show hasn't yet been renewed. The first season was commissioned back in May 2024, with Arterton and the rest of the cast being confirmed in March 2025, as filming began. The episodes were then released just over a year later, in April 2026.
We would therefore imagine that a timeline of just over a year would be possible, if season 2 was confirmed soon after season 1's release. This would make a mid to late 2027 release seem likely.
For now, of course, this is just speculation, and we will make sure to update this page with any news as and when we get it.
Who would return to star in a potential Secret Service season 2?
If Secret Service were to return for a second season, we would certainly expect Gemma Arterton to be back as Kate, with the likes of Alex Kingston and Mark Stanley also likely being in line for a return.
Two characters we wouldn't expect to see again would be Avi Nash's Rav and Alma Prelec's Lena, after they bit the dust in season 1, while there is more of a question mark over Rafe Spall's return as Stuart, after his character was found out to be a Russian mole.
Kate sent him packing to Russia in order to spare him, so it seems unlikely (although not impossible) that he would return.
