    The message highlighted Manilow’s early career, when he worked on advertising jingles for major brands before becoming a global music star. Long before selling over 85 million records worldwide, he was already shaping catchy sounds for commercials.

    Manilow’s career began in the 1960s and 1970s, eventually leading to major hits like “Mandy,” “Can’t Smile Without You” and “Copacabana (At the Copa).” He later became one of the most successful Adult Contemporary artists of all time, with dozens of chart-topping songs.

    While celebrating his Hall of Fame honor, Manilow is still in recovery after undergoing a lobectomy procedure in December 2025 following a stage 1 lung cancer diagnosis. The surgery removed a cancerous spot in his left lung.

    He first revealed his condition after doctors found the issue during an MRI following a long illness. Because of the surgery and recovery process, Manilow postponed several shows from his farewell tour. He later shared that his lungs were still not ready for full performances, leading to further schedule changes.

    He was seen publicly in New York City on April 24, smiling during an outing. It was his first public appearance since surgery, showing fans that he was slowly getting stronger.Despite the pause in touring, Manilow remains active in his career plans. His new studio album, What a Time, is scheduled for release on June 5, 2026.
