Aran Bissett, a finalist at the 2026 Aquatics GB Swimming Championships, is headed across the pond next season, having announced his commitment to swim for Purdue University beginning in the fall of 2026.

Currently attending Brighton College, Bissett is originally from Crowborough, England. He has represented Brighton in the pool for the past two years in addition to training with Swim England South East, and he primarily specializes in sprint free and IM.
Bissett recently competed at the 2026 Aquatics GB Swimming Championships (LCM) in mid-April, where he turned in a series of top performances. He qualified for the championship final in the 50 breast, placing 8th overall in 28.20 after logging a personal best time of 27.95 during prelims. Bissett won the men’s junior categories of the 50 free (22.54), 100 free (48.87) and 50 fly (24.16), setting a new lifetime best in all three events. He also won the men’s junior 200 IM (2:01.96) after posting a best time of 2:01.90 during prelims.
At the Kent Championships (LCM) in January, Bissett posted a series of lifetime best performances. He logged times of 1:55.60 in the 200 free and 56.13 in the 100 fly, both of which still stand as his top times in those events. He also turned in personal best times in the 50 free (23.13), 100 free (50.63) and 50 fly (25.16), all of which he lowered even further at the Aquatics GB Championships.

50 free – 22.54 (19.58) 100 free – 48.87 (42.58) 200 free – 1:55.60 (1:41.26) 200 IM – 2:01.90 (1:46.93) 50 breast – 27.95 (24.27)A Division I program, Purdue competes in the Big Ten Conference; the Boilermakers took 6th at this past season’s conference championships before sending seven athletes to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division I Championships, where they finished 29th overall.
Based on the results from the 2026 Big Ten Championships, Bissett’s projected converted times would have landed him in the ‘A’ final in the 100 free and the ‘B’ final in the 50 free, putting him in a position to score some points for Purdue right from the start. On the team itself, Bissett would have had the fastest time in the 50 breast this past season, giving him a good shot at being a strong contributor for the relays.
Currently set to join Bissett in Purdue’s class of 2030 are Reuben Alty (free), Pablo Pareja (back/fly) and Luca Scampicchio (free/fly/back), who should all make for strong training partners over the next four years.
