ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester police say a hit‑and‑run rollover crash left three people with minor injuries early Saturday morning.
Officers responded to South Avenue and Alexander Street around 5:15 a.m. for a rollover crash with a person trapped, according to a police report. A 46-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man, both Rochester residents, were found inside the overturned vehicle.
Both were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by AMR with minor injuries.
Police determined the crash was a hit-and-run. The victim’s vehicle was heading south on South Avenue at a flashing yellow light when it was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Alexander Street at a flashing red light, causing it to roll over and hit a light pole.
The driver of the striking vehicle fled the scene but was later found by police.
The driver, a 24-year-old Rochester woman, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. She was ticketed for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and unlicensed operation.
The light pole remains functional and traffic is open.
