Shamrock Showdown

Richmond, Virginia March 26-29, 2026 SCY (25 Yards) Full Meet Results

Swim RVA’s annual Shamrock Showdown went off at the end of March, and Westchester Aquatics Club’s Julia Bak and SwimMac’s Austen Wack led the charge with Bak winning six individual events and Wack winning four individual events.

Bak, who is 15 and swims for QNS Aquatic Club, swam seven individual events, winning six gold medals and picking up one 5th place finish.

Most of her swims were slight adds from her lifetime and season best times with the exception of the 100 IM, where she swam 56.68 to win the gold and drop two seconds from her previous best 58.84.

She also set a personal best in the 200 backstroke, her one event that was not a gold medal. She finished 5th in 2:02.92. This was a little more than half a second faster than the 2:03.68 she swam at the Katie Ledecky Invite. She came into the season at 2:04.35 from February of 2025.

    Bak also won the 50 free (22.90), 100 free (50.81), 200 free (1:51.14), 100 back (54.59), and 100 fly (54.25).

On the boys’ side of the meet, Swim MAC 14-year-old Austen Wack picked up four individual gold medals in five individual event finals.

Wack won the 200 free (1:43.47), 1650 free (16:21.37), 100 breast (58.66), and 200 IM (1:55.34). His 200 IM time of 1:55.34 was a new lifetime best by more than a second from the 1:56.70 he swam at the beginning of March.

His other event final was the 50 free, where he set a lifetime best 23.09 to finish 3rd overall.

Wack also swam two individual event prelims, the 200 back and the 100 fly, where he scratched out of the final. Both swims were new best times with him swimming 1:59.60 in the 200 back, dropping eight seconds from his 2:07.79 that he set in February of 2025. In the 100 fly, he swam 54.29, dropping two seconds from the 56.49 mark he set in February.
