ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Around 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, Rochester police responded to Scio and Lewis streets after getting a report of an accident. When police arrived, they said it was a two-vehicle accident, leading to one driver being taken to a local hospital.
Officers say the accident involved a BMW sedan and an Amazon delivery van. The driver of the BMW, a man, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for serious injuries, but was later listed to be in stable condition, the report mentions. Police say the Amazon delivery driver was uninjured.
Investigators mentioned that the BMW was being driven fast while going south on Scio Street, crashing into the delivery van when it was traveling west on Lewis Street, leading to the accident happening in the intersection of the streets.
The crash caused the delivery van to spin, eventually hitting a light post, police say.
RG&E went to the scene for a damaged power line that was caused by the accident and both vehicles were towed away due to the damage.
Amazon is making arrangements for the undelivered packages.
The investigation is ongoing.
