Chicago businessman and philanthropist Willie Wilson will hold a gas giveaway on Saturday, with more than 30 gas stations across the city and suburbs participating.
The event, which marks the 20th gas giveaway organized by Wilson, seeks to help Chicago-area residents as gas prices rise due to the war in Iran and disruption of oil supplies.
According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of unleaded gas is $4.69.
As part of the $500,000 giveaway, participants will receive $35 in free gasoline, which will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
