For the first time ever in his music career, Zach Bryan has been forced to do something he didn’t want to do, and that is to cancel his headlining concert. On Friday, April 3, the country music star, 30, took to social media announcing that he had to pull out of his latest show as part of his With Heaven On Tour due to inclement weather conditions.
On Instagram, the “Pink Skies” singer-songwriter revealed that his stadium show, scheduled for tonight at the H.A. Chapman Stadium in Tulsa, Oklahoma, would not go on as planned. Although heartbroken that he’s unable to perform for his fans, Bryan cited the reason for the cancellation is due to a ‘threat of extreme and dangerous weather.’ But he insisted that the choice not to play music for the fans was not necessarily up to him.
“Fellow Oklahomans,” Bryan began, directing his message to fans and ticket holders as well as those from his hometown, “I am being forced by my team to cancel the show tonight due to the threat of extreme and dangerous weather. I’ve never canceled a show in my life, but I unfortunately don’t have a choice in the matter.”
He Said He Hasn’t Canceled a Show in Five Years
“…. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding,” he added in his note, which also includes the caption. “In five years of touring, I’ve never cancelled a headlining show. I pissed off plenty of people this morning trying to ‘play anyway.’ If I had ANY say in this, things would be different. I apologize, and I love all of ya.’”
In addition to his personal message, the Oklahoma native added a screenshot of a text message, which provides more insight into the situation regarding the reasons behind the cancellation. In the text, the person on the other side speaking to Bryan insists there is no other option than to pull out of the performance, adding that they had spoken with “meteorologists, and local authorities, who had concluded that if they went on with the show they would be 'putting people’s safety at risk.”
Fans who purchased a ticket to Bryan’s Friday show will receive an automatic refund issued through the point of purchase. Bryan’s show on Saturday, April 4, is still scheduled to go on as planned.
