Engineer Hossam Sadek Khalifa, Assistant General Manager of Quality at Petrojet (UAE Branch), died in the line of duty at the Habshan site in Abu Dhabi. The fatality occurred during emergency evacuation procedures following two fires ignited by falling debris from a successful UAE air defense interception.
The Ministry confirmed that while the primary aerial threat was neutralized, the resulting fragments caused localized blazes at the Petrojet operational zone.
Two other Egyptian employees, identified as Lab Supervisor Yasser Gomaa Ahmed Abdel Salam and Quality Control Engineer Mohamed Ibrahim Ali Abdel Rahman, sustained minor injuries in the incident. Both received medical treatment and have since been discharged from the hospital.
Minister Badawi extended his deepest condolences to the Khalifa family and the Petrojet workforce, hailing the deceased as a “devoted cadre” whose career was defined by sincerity and professional commitment. The Ministry has pledged full support to the victim’s family as they navigate this tragic loss.
