Adopted daughter Nicole Richie has two children (with husband, musician Joel Madden), Harlow Winter Kate Madden (born January 2008) and Sparrow James Midnight Madden (born September 2009). Nicole’s younger sis Sofia, also has two children, Eloise Samantha Grainge (born May 2024) and Henry Cecil Grainge (born March 2026).

The new grandpa was clearly overjoyed, sharing with USA Today, “Oh my goodness, and I’m telling you right now Henry, you know, and the beautiful part about it is that the family keeps growing. And my pride keeps popping out of my chest, but it’s wonderful.”

The reality show judge continued, “ And you know, everyone’s happy. And that’s the part I love the most. You know just watching everyone blossom. And uh, I don’t know, Pop-Pop is out there again.”
When asked, “Pop-Pop are you here now?” Richie offered a candid, yet cheeky, response, “No, I’m Pop-Pop everywhere. You know, isn’t that funny? I came here thinking I’ll be Mr. Richie…and now I’m Pop-Pop Richie on American Idol.”
