The role was originated by Cyndi James Gossett in 1987, with Angelique deWindt Francis and Shellye Broughton also portraying the character before Renée Jones took over in 1993. Jones remained in the role until her retirement in 2012, when Lexie was written off the show.
In the final moments of the March 6, 2026 episode, Lexie’s brother E.J. DiMera revealed to Abe’s current wife Paulina Carver (Jackée Harry) that he had been working on a way to bring Lexie back, setting up the character’s shocking return.
