Abdelatty made the remarks during his meeting on Monday with Carleton University’s President Wisdom Tettey and Vice-President Rafik Goubran.
The discussions focused on enhancing academic and scientific collaboration in light of the distinguished ties between Egypt and Canada.
The foreign minister praised Canadian universities as leading global models in higher education and scientific research, highlighting their key role in building a future based on knowledge and innovation, and in preparing qualified professionals capable of keeping pace with technological advancements and global competition.
He noted that this vision aligns with Egypt’s national efforts to modernize higher education and better connect it to labor market demands.
The meeting also touched on opportunities for cooperation in training and capacity-building for African professionals through programs implemented by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development and the Institute for Diplomatic Studies.
Abdelatty pointed to existing cooperation between the foreign ministry and several leading Egyptian universities to promote academic exchange and educational collaboration, expressing hope to replicate this model with Carleton University and other Canadian institutions.
