The recall, from Wisconsin-based Schreiber Foods, applies to cases of Einstein Bagels’ Honey Almond Cream Cheese Spread that were incorrectly identified as Plain. According to the Food and Drug Administration, those with an almond sensitivity run the risk of a severe allergic reaction if these consume it.
The products, the FDA said, were sold in six-ounce plastic cups and labeled Einstein Bros. Bagels. They have lids labeled “Honey Almond,” but cups labeled “Plain.”
144 cases of the cream cheese were recalled, the FDA said, with a “Best If Used By” date of July 21, 2026.
The recall was initiated after shipments of the product with a mismatched lid and cup were discovered. An investigation revealed there was a limited packaging issue that was corrected.
According to the FDA, the products were distributed to Einstein Bagel locations in Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming. No illnesses were reported to date.
Customers who purchased the products are urged to return it to store for a full refund.
