ROCHESTER, N.Y. — On Sunday, Governor Kathy Hochul issued a proclamation to assign March 29 as Vietnam Veterans Day in New York State. Several landmarks throughout the state will be lit up as green, yellow, and red to recognize those who’ve served.
March 29 is the anniversary of the withdrawal of the last 2,500 American troops who left Vietnam in 1973.

Over 58,000 U.S. military members died or went missing in action during the Vietnam War.
