The Longhorns, in their second season under Bob Bowman, scored 445.5 points at the 2026 NCAAs and won by 29.5 points. They were pushed by second-place finisher Florida, which trailed by just 9.5 points after Friday night, but outscored the Gators 105 to 85 on the final day to pull away with a win.
Texas now has 17 total NCAA team titles, extending its lead for the most in history to five.

He was the second-highest individual scorer from the entire NCAAs meet, just behind Florida’s Josh Liendo and his 60 points. Rex Maurer won the 400 IM and scored 36 points, while the Longhorns’ 800 free relay gave them 40 points with a day one title.

800 free relay: 6:05.82 400 IM: Rex Maurer, 3:32.96 100 back: Hubert Kos, 42.61 200 back: Hubert Kos, 1:34.13But beyond the champions, the Longhorns were propelled by extremely strong depth, with five swimmers scoring 30 or more points. With the exception of Kos and Baylor Nelson, who will graduate after this season, all of those swimmers will return next season.

Despite just winning one, they placed higher than sixth in all five relays, which also highlights the team’s depth.
Texas slightly underscored their projected total of 447 headed into the meet, which does not include diving.
