Krispy Kreme is celebrating a historic NASA space mission with the debut of what fans are calling one of its most "creative" drops yet.
As crews gear up for the historic countdown to the first crewed lunar flyby mission in 50 years, per NASA, the beloved doughnut chain is getting ready to "blast off" its own "special mission" and expanding its popular Oreo collab with an all-new, space-themed treat.
True fans know that Krispy Kreme already grew the partnership once this year, adding two new Oreo-flavored doughnuts to its menu last month (the Golden Oreo Doughnut and Chocolate Oreo Dream Doughnut). And now, they can add its special Artemis II-inspired treat to the list of newcomers—but not for long.
"Big moments bring people together, and it doesn’t get much bigger than humans heading back into deep space," Alison Holder, chief brand and product officer at Krispy Kreme, shared in a statement on Friday. "We took our iconic Original Glazed doughnut and gave it a mission‑worthy makeover so fans can celebrate Artemis II in a fun, delicious way, right alongside history."
Krispy Kreme Launches Limited-Edition NASA-Inspired Doughnuts Made With Oreo
Krispy Kreme's new Aretmis II Doughnut starts with the brand’s iconic Original Glazed recipe, according to an official description shared in a March 27 press release. The doughnut is then dipped in blue vanilla‑flavored icing, sprinkled with a mix of Oreo crunch and white nonpareils, before it's finished with a cookies‑and‑creme flavored buttercream dollop and topped with a red chevron nod to the NASA logo.

It’s "familiar, nostalgic, and mission‑ready," according to the doughnut chain, which promises the out-of-this-world creation is the same "melt‑in‑your‑mouth favorite loved for generations," just with "a bold new look inspired by NASA’s mission."
It's not the first time Krispy Kreme has celebrated NASA and all things related to space (the company has made a habit of serving eclipse-inspired treats as well as fresh Original Glazed doughnuts during some of NASA's biggest moments—like the Apollo 11 launch in 1969, the Perseverance Rover landing on Mars in 2021 and the Artemis I Mission with the Artemis Moon Doughnut in 2022), but it's certainly one of the most creative in the eyes of fans.
"I love how [Krispy Kreme] just keeps rolling with creative, fun donuts," one wrote.
Influencer Markie_devo reacted to the release, joking, "Beam me to Krispy Kreme!???."
"wooww," another said, clearly astonished.
"Get. Into. My. Belly!!!!!!" one more declared.
When Will Krispy Kreme's Artemis II Doughnuts Be Available?
Krispy Kreme's limited-edition Artemis II Doughnut will only be available for a limited time next week at participating Krispy Kreme shops nationwide. According to the official announcement, the treat will debut on Tuesday, March 31, and be on menus through Thursday, April 2, while supplies last.
The limited-edition launch can be purchased on its own, as a single doughnut, or as part of the Artemis II Specialty Dozen, which includes six Artemis II Doughnuts and six Original Glazed doughnuts, "because every historic launch deserves a classic onboard," according to Krispy Kreme (prices may vary).
