With HBO Max having now launched in the UK, that has brought with it the debut of The Pitt, the acclaimed US drama which has been winning almost every award going over the past year.
Each season of the show charts a single 15-hour work shift at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, following the medics as they deal with various patients while also navigating staff shortages and underfunding.
Some viewers may think that, based on this description, they know what to expect from the show, having watched other medical dramas previously. However, when speaking with Radio Times exclusively, Dr Robby star Noah Wyle said: "You don't know nothing!"
Speaking about how the show differs from other medical dramas, Wyle's co-star Katherine LaNasa, who plays charge nurse Dana Evans, said: "I think that often medical shows are really kind of soaps that take place in a hospital, right? And we don't follow the characters home. This is really a day in the life."

It's about shining a light on heroic healthcare workers, really, and what they've been through and what they're reeling from since covid. And also the problems in America through the lens of an emergency department.
"The next season, season 2, takes place on Fourth of July. So I found that very interesting, because we're really going there with some of the problems in our country on this day where we're supposed to be celebrating our nationalism."
The first season of The Pitt is available to watch in full now on HBO Max, while episodes of season 2, which have been airing in the US for some time, will drop weekly from Thursday 2 April.
While speaking with Radio Times, Wyle clarified that the show isn't "all blood and guts and drama," but does also contain humour throughout.
"Sometimes in these harrowing scenes and environments, it's the sense of humour, the gallows humour, that gets the characters through," he explained. "So I think that's probably something that hasn't been reported."
The Pitt season 1 is available on HBO Max now. Season 2 begins on 2 April.
