‘Ghostbusters’ star Ernie Hudson visits Rochester to celebrate aging, combat stereotypes

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Actor Ernie Hudson was in Rochester for Lifespan’s Celebration of Aging.

Hudson, known for his roles in “Ghostbusters” and “Grace and Frankie,” is now 80 years old. He spoke at the luncheon, which aims to combat ageism.

Hudson told News10NBC the key to enjoying your golden years isn’t just staying on top of your physical health but taking care of your mind as well.

“Be careful of the thoughts we begin to take in and believe because as my grandmother would say it leads with spirits, keep your spirits up. And sometimes you have to make the effort to see the good that’s out there, to see the things that make you happy, but focus on those things as opposed to those things that drain your life’s energy,” Hudson said.

Hudson says he’s not going to retire anytime soon. He has a role in the drama “Boston Blue” and will voice Combat Carl in “Toy Story 5.”
